Land policy is an integral part of the accessibility and sustainability of our homes, as well as the inclusivity of our cities. Land policy also plays a crucial role in Ukraine's efforts to "Build back better" and achieve a just recovery.  In 2023, building on the report "Rebuilding a Place to Call Home – Sharing knowledge for the recovery of Ukraine" by PBL, we invited experts to consider the following issues:

-What are the key legislative and structural challenges in land policy to achieve a balanced and inclusive recovery of homes and places?

-How can private land use be reconciled with public interests and long-term goals of climate-neutral land use and affordable housing?

-What land use tools are available, and which ones should be developed in communities to promote affordable housing?

-Finally, what is the role of research and institutions at the national and local levels in this regard?

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in our event! We are genuinely pleased with our presenters and audience's high level of discussion and engagement. To continue the discussion on the relationship between housing and land markets in Ukraine, we plan to prepare a report and share its findings with you very soon.
